Frequently Asked Questions

ABOUT VERSE ZINE & THE ART

How is Verse Zine different from traditional stock image libraries?

Unlike mass-market stock sites, Verse Zine focuses on tightly curated collections with a coherent, intentional aesthetic. We favor bold, emotionally resonant, and stylized imagery that feels like artwork, not filler.

All images are created under human art direction specifically for Verse Zine. They are not scraped from public datasets and are not distributed across other stock platforms.

Are these images AI-generated?

Yes. Every image in Verse Zine is created by a human artist using advanced AI tools.

AI is one tool in a larger process that includes concept development, art direction, prompt and model selection, iterative refinement, and manual touch-up. The images you see are not raw prompts or random outputs—they’re the result of deliberate, guided work by an experienced designer.

If you’d like the full deep dive into how the art is made, you can read:

What does “royalty-free” mean?

“Royalty-free” means that once you license an image with your Credits, you can use it in your projects forever under our license terms. There are:

  • no per-use fees,
  • no royalties, and
  • no limits on audience size or print runs,

as long as you’re within the allowed uses and restrictions described in our License and Terms & Conditions.

What kind of images do you offer (styles, subjects, resolution)?

We focus on high-impact, concept-driven themes—editorial, mythic, atmospheric, futuristic, and design-forward imagery that works well in storytelling and brand contexts.

All images are delivered at 300 DPI in PNG format. Exact dimensions vary per image (listed on each Asset page), but you can expect at least 3000 pixels on the shortest side, making them suitable for both digital use and high-quality print.

How often do you add new images to the library?

New collections are released regularly—typically one or more fully curated galleries per month. We prioritize quality and coherence over raw volume, so each new drop is intended to feel distinct and thoughtfully assembled.

Are the images exclusive to Verse Zine?

Yes. All images in the Verse Zine Royalty Free library are exclusive to Verse Zine. They are not listed on other stock sites or sold as part of third-party AI tools.

AI, TRAINING & CREATIVE PROCESS

Can I use Verse Zine images to train AI models or create style profiles?

No. You may not:

  • use our images in any AI or machine learning training dataset,
  • fine-tune models (including LoRAs or similar techniques) based on our images,
  • use our images to build style codes, personalization profiles, or moodboards intended for ingestion by AI tools.

You’re welcome to use the images in your human-directed creative projects—but not as fuel for new generative systems.

LICENSE & USAGE

What am I allowed to do with the images? Can I use them for commercial projects?

Yes. Once you license an image, you can use it in a wide range of commercial and personal projects, including:

  • websites and apps
  • social media posts and campaigns
  • online ads and marketing
  • presentations and pitch decks
  • editorial layouts and reports
  • product packaging and similar materials

You can crop, color-grade, composite, and otherwise transform the images as part of your own creative work, as long as you respect the prohibited uses below.

What uses are prohibited?

You may not:

  • Resell or redistribute an image as a standalone file (even if modified).
  • Use an image as the primary value in a product for resale—e.g., a print-on-demand poster or t-shirt where the image is the product.
  • Use an image in templates for resale (such as themes, presentation templates, or design kits) where end users can easily extract or reuse the image.
  • Use an image as part of a logo, trademark, or service mark.
  • Use images in defamatory, illegal, hateful, or pornographic contexts.
  • Use images in AI training, fine-tuning, or style/profile systems of any kind.
  • Claim that an unmodified or minimally modified Asset is entirely your original artwork.

For the full legal details, please see our Terms & Conditions.

Can my teammates or company reuse the images I download?

Your license is per individual user, not per company.

  • If you’re an employee or contractor, you can absolutely use licensed images in work you create for your employer or clients.
  • However, your company does not automatically get the right to share raw image files with other team members for their own projects.

You may not:

  • upload licensed images to a shared corporate asset library, DAM, or shared drive for general reuse, or
  • set up internal systems that let unlicensed team members browse and reuse Verse Zine images as if they had their own subscription.

If your organization needs shared, company-wide access, please contact us to discuss future enterprise or agency-level options.

Do I need to give credit or attribution when I use an image?

  • For most uses, no attribution is required.
  • If your project includes a formal credits section (for example, a film, TV production, or video game), and we’ve agreed to that kind of usage, you must include the line:
  • Imagery licensed from Verse Zine (versezine.com).

We always appreciate optional credit in other contexts, but it’s not mandatory.

Can I use images in films, TV shows, or video games?

There are two levels here:

  1. Everyday uses (decks, internal pitches, mockups, moodboards, promotional graphics for your project) are generally covered under the standard license.
  2. High-impact distribution (being part of the final visual content in a broadcast TV show, theatrical film, high-profile streaming series, or commercial video game released at scale) is not automatically included.

For major broadcast, film/TV, game, or large out-of-home campaigns where the image is a key visual element, please contact us to discuss a specific license or future Agency-level plan. This protects you, your partners, and us by making sure the rights are correctly scoped for that kind of use.

SUBSCRIPTION, PLANS & BILLING

How do the subscription plans and credits work?

  • Each plan (including the Free Plan) gives you a set number of Credits per month.
  • Each image costs one or more Credits to license, as listed on its page.
  • Credits are deducted when you download/license an image.

Paid plans provide higher monthly Credits and are designed for regular or professional use.

What is the Free Plan?

The Free Plan gives you a limited number of Credits each month so you can try the library and gradually build a small collection of licensed images.

  • Free Credits roll over while your account is active and in good standing, up to a maximum balance for the Free Plan (shown on the plan details page). Once you hit that cap, additional free Credits pause until you use some.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or revoke Free Plan access (including unused free Credits) in cases of abuse, harassment, or fraud, as described in our Terms.

What happens to my unused credits at the end of the month?

  • Credits roll over from month to month while your account remains active and in good standing, up to a maximum rolling balance for your current plan (Free or paid).
  • Once you reach that cap, new Credits stop accruing until you use some of your existing balance.
  • If your account is terminated or your subscription ends, any remaining unused Credits may be forfeited.

The current Credit caps for each plan are listed on our pricing/plan page.

What if I run out of credits?

If you run out of Credits and find you need more, the best option is to upgrade to a higher-tier plan. Each plan includes a larger monthly Credit allowance, and when you upgrade you’ll receive the benefits of your new plan starting with your next billing cycle.

We don’t currently offer one-off or top-up Credits outside of subscriptions. If that ever changes, we’ll update the details on our pricing page.

Can I change my subscription plan?

Yes.

  • You can upgrade to a higher-tier plan at any time. We’ll charge you the difference between your current plan price and the higher plan price for that billing period and immediately add the extra Credits associated with the new plan.
  • You can downgrade to a lower-tier plan or to the Free Plan; the change will take effect on your next billing cycle and will not take away Credits you’ve already received.

Do you offer refunds?

In general, no. All payments are non-refundable, and we do not offer partial refunds for unused time or Credits that have already been issued or spent. If you believe there’s been a billing error, reach out and we’ll review it with you case-by-case.

How is my payment information kept secure?

All payments are processed through secure third-party providers (such as Stripe) via our membership platform, Memberstack. We do not store your full payment details on our own servers.

ACCOUNTS, ACCESS & SUPPORT

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel at any time through your account settings. You’ll retain access to your plan benefits and Credits until the end of your current billing period, and your subscription will not renew afterward.

To cancel:

  1. Click your profile image (or the default avatar) in the upper-right corner of the site.
  2. Choose Account / Plans to open your membership settings.
  3. Click the blue Manage subscription button to open the billing portal.
  4. In the portal, click Cancel subscription, then confirm on the next screen by clicking Cancel subscription again.

You can restart your subscription at any time in the same billing portal.

If I cancel, can I still use the images I already downloaded?

Yes. The license for images you’ve already licensed is perpetual—you can keep using them under our License terms even after your subscription ends, as long as:

  • you obtained them legitimately through your account, and
  • your use continues to comply with our Terms and license restrictions.

We always recommend backing up your files; ongoing online access to your library depends on the continued operation of the service and your account status.

Can my account or free credits be revoked?

In rare cases, yes. We may suspend or terminate accounts, and revoke unused Credits (including free Credits), if:

  • you engage in harassment, abuse, or bad-faith attacks toward Verse Zine, our artists, or our customers, or
  • your account or IP address is associated with fraud, abuse, or automated attacks as detected by our payment and fraud-prevention partners.

Termination does not retroactively revoke the license to images you’ve already legitimately downloaded, but it may remove future access to your account and any remaining Credits.

Why can’t I access the site or my account from my network?

To protect our service and customers, we use third-party tools to detect bots, fraudulent traffic, and abuse. If your IP, device, or network is flagged, you may see blocks or restrictions even if you’re trying to access the site in good faith.

If this happens:

  • Try a different network or device, and
  • Contact us with details so we can investigate. While we can’t guarantee we can override all third-party decisions, we’ll do our best to help legitimate customers regain access.

Who do I contact if I have a technical issue or a question?

You can reach us at nathan@subcreation.design for:

  • technical issues,
  • licensing questions,
  • plan or billing questions, or
  • feedback and feature requests.

We’d love to hear what’s working for you and what could be better.
